That was absolutely horrible to watch, sorry. It was very helpful that they went over exactly what we have talked about for the last week in class [turns out, I actually was paying attention:) ]. It has to be a fairly old video though, since they said President Obama has done a fantastic job of keeping his approval ratings high...I'm pretty certain Mr. Bretzmann said it has dropped to 47% which is not anywhere near where he started. Thank God there's only two more weeks to do this...

I think it was interesting the dialogue about being chief of state. That is something we didn't talk a lot about in class, however it is very important. The fact that the president it the "number one citizen" can kinda scare some people and excite others. I think that the party system in America almost destroys the role of chief of state. With all the partisan feelings in the country, the idea of one person representing America is almost appalling to some people. However, I suppose better Obama than like Harrison Ford or some other iconic American.

This was certainly a little bit of an interesting listen. It's also a something that not many really think about. But, when you do, it is a little unnerving. We have one person representing the ideals of everyone, or supposedly doing so, and that just cannot work, at all. There's no way that everyone, especially when presidential races are fairly close (like Obama's wasn't). It just doesn't make the sense in the long run. I don't know the solution, but is it a problem then?

I find Alex's comment to be interesting. And looking at it in perspective, the roll of chief of state being the "number one citizen" is kind of scary. Everyone can fall from grace and the position can become overwhelming- having such a high expectation and resposibility on that single person. Luckily the presidents that have, such as Clinton, have sparked other legacies versus thier fornications.

When they refer to the shief of state as the main sitizen, it sounds like he is the only ne who they care about. Carl Azus is far better in educational videos thatn this man.

Kniggs, were you on acid when you typed that post? :P

anyway the idea of the shief* of state as main citizen is ridiculous. No one person is any more qualified and/or more important than the other. There is no way one person can represent millions. It isn't possible.

Representational democracy is a violation of our basic rights as human beings.

Even though I just watched this video now i found it interesting. There were a few aspects that were new to me though.I believe Obamas approval rating has dropped even more to 45%?
