"The Cabinet includes the Vice President and the heads of 15 executive departments — the Secretaries of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Labor, State, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs, as well as the Attorney General" states the whitehouse.gov. The top 5 positions in my opinion would be Education, Homeland Security, Defense, Treasury, Labor. I believe Education will be important due to the fact that the level of our high schoolers ability to preform mental tasks seem to be much lower than other country's. Homeland Security will always be important, since the government wants to take extra measures to keep our citizens safe. The U.S. spends numerous amounts of money on Defense, making this position highly important. We spend more on defense than any other country, from what I have learned. Our Treasury must work with out debt and inflation issues if they are to occur, making our country's worth in stake. Hence, why I would say this position will be important within the next four years. Labor has to do with our workforce, which is majority of the nation, making it important. I believe all that I have listed shall be important in the ext 4 years.

Top 5 Cabinet Positions:
1. Secretary of Defense - conflicts in the Middle East continue to be a problem for US Embassies, making this job extremely important.
2. Secretary of State - always an important position, it will be interesting to see how Kerry follows in the footsteps of Clinton.
3. Secretary of the Treasury - Geithner has lots of trouble with fiscal cliff agreements. Will Lew be able to do a better job of negotiating and improving the economy?
4. Secretary of Energy - this position is important because it is an integral part of moving America toward energy independence.
5. Secretary of Health and Human Services - this position will be important because with Obamacare coming into effect, Sebelius will play a large role in implementation.

I think the top 5 most important Cabinet positions will be the Secretary of State, Secretary of Treasury, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Homeland Security and The Attorney General. The Secretary of State is an adviser to the president and head of the State Department. He or she is most concerned with foreign affairs and relations. The Secretary of the Treasury is concerned with the monetary and banking system of the country. Finance regulation and the economy are his responsibility. The Secretary of Defense is in charge of all military issues. He is responsible for wartime defense issues, as well as running the military during times of peace. The Secretary of Homeland Security is charged with the safety of U.S. borders. 22 separate agencies merged to create the Department of Homeland Security. The Attorney General is in charge of the Department of Justice. He is the lead attorney in the country, responsible for court cases and enforcing laws.

The five most important positions to the President's cabinet go in this order. Secretary of Defense, State, Tresuary, Attorney General and Health and Human services. Defense because there are obviously still problems between the Middle east and the states that need to be resolved. State because we have a new secretary in John Kerry and it will be interesting to see how he handles the job. Treasury because Lew is new in office and it will be interesting to see if he will have as many problems as Geither with the fiscal cliff and other economic decisions/agreements. Attorney General is the head of all attorneys across the nation and will obviously have to make big, important decisions. Health and Human services because obamacare is going to be put into effect.

The five most important positions in my opinion would be secretary of defense, health and human services, treasury, education, and attorney general. I chose secretary of defense because of the issues we still face with the war on terrorism. 2nd I chose the secretary of health and human services because Obamacare is going to more than likely be put in place. Thirdly, I picked treasury because of the problems with the fiscal cliff. Next I chose education because of the issue of affirmative action being brought to the supreme court and it's always a necessity. Lastly I picked the attorney general because he/she is in charge of a lot of court issues in which many big constitutional conflicts have been brought up lately.

My opinion of the Top 5 Cabinet Positions is:
1. Secretary of State- the Secretary of State is a busy position, always traveling and talking face-to-face with political leaders around the world and discussing affairs in place of the president. Plus John Kerry will have to pick up the job after Clinton.
2. Secretary of Health and Human Services- Now with the US pulling out of Afghanistan President Obama's focus will be fixed on Obamacare, and current Secretary Sibelius will be the major overseer of its implementation.
3. Secretary of the Treasury- the Secretary of the Treasury deals with fiscal affairs and Geither will have to deal with the numerous economic issues, including balancing the budget.
4.Secretary of Defense and Secretary of Homeland Security- Now with US involvement overseas now being relegated to a support role in 2014 following the pullout from Afghanistan the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security will have a smaller but a still crucial job in protecting this country and her interests abroad.
5. Secretary of Energy- now with Obama supporting the movement to renewable energy and energy independence. The Secretary of Energy will oversee the use of government funds to support projects that will help ascertain the President's goals.

I believe that the Secretary of State, Secretary of Homeland Security, Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Commerce and Secretary Education/ Secretary of Treasury would be the top 5 (6 last two are a tie) for the most important cabinet postion these next four years. The secretary of state will be important with dealing with other countries and keeping peace with them. The secretary of homeland security and defense will be important for the reason that they protect the citizens. With shifts in other countries' leadership there will be new things to watch out for and confront so that we are kept safe. Secretary of commerce will have to help keep jobs in America and look for new trading opportunites. And lastly, education and tresasury should both make the top 5 list. Education should because that is something that we need to look into improving because our country is slacking behind a lot of other countries. And tresaury needs to be improved so that our economy becomes better.
