I think that the election will be unpleasnt due to the fact of more political bashing versus positive campaining.
I am hoping that Romney will be up against obama, and am fearing cain versus obama. Cain seems like he would get votes by younger people because they find him amussing. I believe Romney is more politically sound.
I feel that Obama will win if it is cain versus Obama. Obama is a much more powerful speaker and his ads make a lot more sense then cains.
I feel that Romney will win if it is Obama versus Romney. With the republicans all backing behind a single political candidate i feel the votes will out way the democrats. I think romneys arguing ability and speaking quality is on a very similar level to obama. A stat that i saw on cnn news that compared obama to any republican came out to 47% any republican and 52% Obama and 1% other. I think that if the republicans have a trustworthy candidate such as Romney, Obama has a very tough competition ahead of them.
I think that if Cain is the Republican candidate his ads will try to attack obama and not make any sense.
I think if Romney is the Republican candidate he will attack obama and sparingly boost himself up.
I think Obama would attack Romney with similar commercials to the one you have shown in class.
I think Obama would attack cain on his electric fense statements, his rediculous commercials and methods of persuasion.
Overall i think Romney will win if Romney is the Republican canidate. I think Obama will win in a race against Cain.

I think that the likely candidates for the election will be Obama and Cain. As they are both african americans, I doubt that this will cause any effect on the outcome; except for the absence of racists voting. If it comes down to these two, I believe that Cain will win, due to his hilarious ads. However, if Obama is against Romney, I believe that Romney would win, although the two candiates have similar speaking abilities.

The race for the Republican party candidate right now is between Mitt Romney and Herman Cain. Herman Cain is a different kind of candidate mainly because of his lack of a political career, yet the American people seem to favor him. Mitt Romney has an extensive political career, but the Republican party might be looking for someone more conservative than Romney. One of the main reasons Romney is trailing behind Cain is because of his own healthcare plan he used as governor of Massachussetts that is similar to Obamacare. Cain seems to be the frontrunner because he has a financial plan. I think that this is subject to change. Although the American people seem supportive of Cain, I believe that in the end the Republicans will want someone with more political background. Whether Romney wins the candidacy or Cain, one things is clear: Obama will lose his reelection. Our country has given Obama four years in office, and we are not better off because of it. I think the American people are ready for REAL change, and that change is Obama leaving office.

I think that it is way too early to start trying to guess who will recieve the nomination for the Republicans because all the focus right now is directed towards bashing eachother and revealing the next "big story" about an opponent. However, with that all said I believe that it will be Romney who recieves the nomination because he has a well known history and has a bigger names than the other candidates. I also believe that the Republican nominee will win the general election because the general consensus of the country seems to want to decrease the federal spending of the Obama administration and who better to do that than an economical man like Mitt Romney

Right now I believe that the presidential campaign is in the hands of the Republicans. Throughout history Americans have voted according to how the country is doing economically. Since a democratic president is in office now, I believe that Americans will elect a republican candidate. With that being said, I think the candidates will be between Cain and Romney. Romney is a more traditional candidate while Cain is different from any candidates that we've had before. I think whoever the republican candidate is, will be the next president.

I believe that in the upcoming election for president next year i believe that Mitt Romney will. I believe this because while he was the governor of Massachusetts he was able to help their their economy by looking over their budget and making changes were needed. Another reason why I believe that Mitt Romney will win is because he has a degree in business which is a good thing because of the current state of our nations economy. Over all i believe Mitt Romney will win the presidential campaign next year.

Right now I think the Republicans are going to win the presidential election in 2011. The people are thinking Obama has brought them only bad things and nearly 80% of the people are thinking that the national government is on the wrong track. But the Republicans have to be very carefully with their nomination for their candidate, because if their candidate is to extreme or not reasonable enough he will probably loose against Obama.
Right now are the ads of the candidates just against each other and they have not very much content. I hope this will change during the time.

Although most people are generally dissatisfied with President Obama, I think that he will likely win the election. I think that the only Republican that would have any chance of beating him is Mitt Romney, and we still don’t even know if he’ll be the candidate. Even if he wins, it is tough to beat an incumbent. And as I said before, most people are unhappy with what Obama has/hasn’t done, but even more people are unhappy with the federal government as a whole, which consists of both Democrats and a lot of Republicans. The article says that it will be a more negative campaign than the 2008 election, but I think there will still be a lot “hope and change,” from the Republicans at least, because the country is still in a bad place and that is still what people want to hear. Obama ads, however, will likely just be attacking the other candidate because he can’t use that type of campaign again after people feel he hasn’t really created any good change.

I think that in the race for the Republican party candidate, between Mitt Romney and Herman Cain, that Romney is better suited and more likely to win. Cain seems like a portion of his votes comes from him just being amusing. which is not what i want in a Presidential candidate. I think if it comes to Obama vs. Romney, that Romney will beat Obama by a small margin. But if comes to be Obama vs. Cain, that Obama will go on to have a second term.

As it is right now, the Republicans have a strong chance in the presidential campaign. The Democratic candidate will most likely be President Obama and the Republican candidate position will be between Cain and Romney. Even though current polls strongly favor Cain, the Democratic Party seems to think that Romney has a strong chance of being the Republican candidate due to their current advertisements attacking him. I think that Americans see that with President Obama in office now, not much is changing as far as the economy and the general state of our country is concerned. People are not seeing the change that they want and therefore they will elect a candidate who they think will make a positive change and that is Cain or Romney. The race may be close but I think that the Republicans will win.

I believe that the likely candidates for the election will be Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Even though that the polls right now favor Cain as the leading frontrunner for the Republican Party I believe that this is going to be very short lived. As of now, Cain is in hot water with the allegations of sexual assault and it will diminish his chances of becoming the Republican frontrunner. Romney has been in the race since the beginning unlike Cain, and I think that his experience far more outweighs that of Herman Cain’s. Personally, I believe that Herman Cain should not be taken seriously. His ad that was played during class was comical, and that is not what we need out of a leader especially in these uncertain times. Herman Cain is the CEO of Godfather’s pizza, a well known chain but does that entail him to have the leadership capabilities that the presidency of the United States requires? The answer is no. I believe that Barack Obama will beat Mitt Romney. Barack Obama has been in office for the last four years and has made progress. I believe that the American attitude towards Obama is something to the tune of “he hasn’t fixed the economy!” Well, that takes time. Obama has gotten things done. He has ordered the assassination of Osama Bin-Laden, and has put his foot down and followed through on his promise to leave Iraq. There is a reason that Romney has fallen up short on all of his past election bids, and I believe that this year will not be different.

I think this election will be more corruptive than years past. Many canidates are putting there campaigns online for more public access. I feel that romney is the best option as of right now because he stands for the what i believe in the most. I believe if it ends up romney against obama, romney has a very good shot to win.

The outcome for the elections in one year will be a small break from the relentless political ads. As far who will be in the race i believe it will be Obama Vs. Romney. I believe the victor will be Romney as he attracts the Republics and he still has views in which will sway some moderate voters. The ultimate factor in the election will be the struggling economy and Republics tend to have views and ideas that are business oriented and will make legislation and executive orders to help the economy. So in 2012 Obama will be out of a job and Romney will be our 45th president.

I think that, although the polls have Cain leading, Romney will become the Republican presidential candidate. Mitt Romney has been in the race since the start and has always been known in politics, Cain is the owner of Godfather Pizza Co. In my opinion, this does not give any good presidential credentials to Herman Cain. As far as the outcome, I would like to say Barrack Obama wins, he has done many things in the nation, yes the economy is still struggling but is that not one of the hardest things to fix. Mitt Romney has not always been sound at times, being more moderate than conservative, which in my opinion will not help him with the voters.

Due to the current status of the upcoming 2012 election I believe that in one year it will become a verbal brawl.
Currently the candidates have focused greatly on advertisements bashing the other candidates rather then presenting their own opinions and beliefs coming into the presidency.
However i do believe that the two likely candidates will be Obama, and Herman Cain.
I believe that since Obama is the current president he will become the democratic candidate.
Then Herman Cain will become the Republican candidate because even after entering late in the presidential race he has already attained a large portion of the votes. I think this trend is then going to continue.
If it comes down to these two candidates i believe the mud-slinging will be limited in the presidential race will be limited as it will come to deal with the concurring issues in our nation rather than issues the candidates have formed opinions in the past.

In the current polls Mitt Romney is taking the lead followed by Michele Bachmann, and Newt Gingrich. As ranked the most favorable candidate is Herman Cain. After seeing more of Herman Cain's crazy campaign commericials I feel he will no longer be considered most favorable. I believe out of all Newt Gingrich will come out on top for the Republican side because he has discussed his plan of less spending to other countries which is what people are wanting to see along with other foreign affaris. I feel he will beat out president obama as many are unsatisfied in what he has done for the country.

I believe that Herman Cain will be the big winner in the next year against Obama. Cain is a very straight forward man, and is not afraid to express his ideas to help this country. I believe that he has great ideas to help is move forward, and better this country for what we are worth.

I personally think that Romney and Perry will take each other out and Obama will end up winning. If Romney and Perry keep bashing each other, there will be no good things left for either, everyone will realize how immature the republicans are and will decide to give Obama another term because he at least knows what he is doing.

In my opinion, I believe that the Republican candidate will be Herman Cain. Although this seems like a joke, he may have a reason behind all of the foolish advertisments. Maybe, he is a well-educated man who is using this type of ads just to get political attention. For example, nearly everyone in my 5th hour class is aware of the type of person that Cain is. Additionally, this will only help him when the election time comes around because people are familiar with him name. On the other hand, I think tha Obama will run for the Democratic party. Honestly, I believe that it is hard to predict what the election outcome will be, but it will be extremely close.

For the upcoming presidential election I think that Obama will come out on top. He is already the president and that gives him a slight advantage. If Romney is his competitor than it will be a close race. If it is Cain I think Obama will win by a lot due to Cains ability to run an election so far.

Watch out for Newt Gingrich.

Unlike Bachmann, Perry, and Cain, Gingrich's sudden popularity is not simply because of a broader recognition of his name. A year ago, less than 50% of the nation could recognize Bachmann, Perry, or Cain. As each began to become more recognized their popularity increased equally as quickly at first, but then fell after the GOP got a true taste of each candidate. Gingrich has recently risen in popularity to now lead the GOP race WITHOUT significant growth in his name recognition (a steady 90% in most polls since last year among GOP members). Unlike the 3 previously mentioned candidates, Gingrich will not fall in popularity.

In a virtual tie between Romney and Gingrich, Gingrich will win because of debates. Gingrich will not only defeat Romney in a one-on-one debate--but also Obama. I believe the Obama administration would much rather see Romney emerge as the winner because Obama can beat Romney head to head (even though I believe that Romney would be the best President of the 3).

I expect Gingrich to gain support of the GOP over Romney. The Gingrich campaign will lead another GOP revolution similar to his "Contract with America" and win the Presidential nomination in 2012.

I think that the final outcome of the Presidential Election will be a victory by Rick Perry. Perry will win over his competitors because each has a unique disadvantage.
Perry's three main competitors are Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, and incumbent Barack Obama.
Although Cain leads the polls right now, he is sure to recede and lose the primaries because he often does not argue logically, doesn't know what he is talking about, or forgets key, commonly known facts. Also, Cain is not campaigning in states with early primaries, a fatal mistake. Also, there is a rising opinion that Cain is only running for President in order to sell more copies of his recently released book.
Romney has been a strong contender for President for a long time, but I personally think that people are starting to think of his name as just another word, not a serious candidate for President, especially with many of his commonly known public mistakes.
I think that Incumbent President Obama will not win reelection because there is a growing opposition to him and his policies that have led to an overall more conservative climate in the country.
Perry is also not without fault, with some of his slip ups in debates, but he has had relatively few, and he also enjoys the advantage of having a great campaign staff. His TV ads are far beyond those of Cain or Romney, and he is the conservative that many people are looking for in wake of their displeasure with the Obama Administration.

After analyzing the current race, I hate to say this, but I believe that Barack Obama will be re-elected :(. I say this because all of the other people running either have no idea what they are talking about or have problems answering questions. *cough* Cain *cough*. Barack Obama has one thing that can not be disputed: he has experience in the White House. Herman Cain is not going to win and I believe he is announcing that he will be dropping out? (I dont know, that is what I heard). Rick Perry can't remember his platform and Mitt Rommney is not going to even come close. The only other viable option is either Sarah Palin or Barack Obama. But since Sarah Palin is not running, that leaves Barack Obama. Winner winner chicken dinner!

Since this election has already taken place, I will comment on the 2016 election that is getting closer and closer day by day. I think Hillary Clinton will end up running for the president as the Democratic candidate. I think with her Democratic support, as well as that from much more women than any one man would be able to receive swing votes from, she will be very hard to beat. I think on the Republican side we will see Governor Christie and Governor Walker could become very competitive in the fight for the Republican vote. I think it is too early to say what will happen, especially when so much could go on in the Obama administration to swing America Democratic or Republican. I do believe, though, that this election will be a very close one and that the winner will be around 280 electoral votes.
