A girl asked what the elite theory was and I responded saying: the elite theory is a theory of the state which seeks to describe and explain the power relationships in contemporary society

I believe the President should still have power over this so the decision is not as biased or hasty. It has more levels of the government to pass through and more has to be considered for a final decision to be made.

Someone asked about a Bill of Attainder. I responded that it was a legislative act declaring one guilty of a crime without trial and that it's declared unconstitutional under Article 1, Section 9.

A girl asked what a bill of attainder was and I said it was a legislative act declaring a person or group to be guilty of a crime without a judicial trial. I also mentioned that it was used by kings and last time it was used was in 1798 for an Irish rebellion, which one source mentioned. But another source mentioned bill of attainder was to be used for Nazis if they were captured.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is way over it's head with trying to threaten the United States and her allies. there is a 50/50 chance that their missles cannot hold a nuclear weapon, or that their missles are unaccurate.

I believe that the POTUS should chose a Secretary of State as the one person he can truly trust and give him the majority of the control over foreign policy because the POTUS has so much on his plate as it is that having the extra person being the expert on that issue could really help

The president should be the leader in any case. He is the head of a country and his ideas are the most powerful. The secretary of state should provide the president with information but the president should and does have the final say.

i think there is a chance the the nuclear missiles held by North Korea are nuclear, but there is also a chance that they aren't. Their missiles also may not be very accurate so it was a poor decision on their part to threaten the united states.

I belive that its should be a mix of power between POTUS and the secratary of State. The secratary should have a few delegated powers but on important issues the president should handle it.

The real leader on foreign policy is the Secretary of State, John Kerry, but I believe that it should be the POTUS. The POTUS is essentially the face of our nation, and having that role, should also be a leader on foreign policy. Since the POTUS has many other important duties he must do, the Secretary of State should obviously be his primary adviser.

I think the President should be the leader. The President leads our country therefore I believe he is powerful and has good ideas. Secretary of state can inform the President with issues and information, but I think the President has the ability to have the final decision.

Right now it is the Secretary of State with control on foreign policy. The President should have the power on foreign power. He is the face of the nation and has a greater impact on people. Although, it would be wise to have the Secretary of State help out with foreign policy because the POTUS has many other issues to address.

John Kerry, the Secretary of State, is in charge of foreign policy. I believe the power of foreign policies should be shared between the POTUS and Secretary of State. It is a strong issue that causes a lot of debate. I believe that it is necessary for both to overlook and have power.

I think the SoS (nice three-letter acronym!)should control foreign policy. The president should be the general leader of his cabinet and give his ideas the the secretary. As the highest ranking member of the cabinet, the SoS should be given most of the power over foreign affairs.

Someone asked what an example of grassroots lobbying would be and I responded that Grassroots was a indirect way of lobbying and that an expample would be urging others to contact their legislators about a pending bill.

The Secretary of State is in control of foreign policy right now. The president does have the final say and that's how it should be. The Secretary of State should just give the POTUS all the information to make a good foreign policy decision.

I think that we need to recognize North Korea as a dangerous enemy. the president needs to have a more firm position against Kim Jung Un than just telling him its unacceptable to do what he is doing. Overall I think North Korea is such a lost and misguided country that their whole nuclear program is just a threat to forcivly get foreign aid.

The Secretary of State should have the majority of the power over foreign policy. The current Secretary of State, John Kerry, is the equivalent of the "foreign minister" role and shares the power with the head of government (our President).

I think the President should be the overall leader. The President is the president for a reason and has the knowledge to make good decisions. The secretary of state should inform the POTUS and then the Pres should have the final say.

I believe that the President should have the last say in every large issue. However, I do believe if the Secretary of State could resolve the matter peacefully without having the President that would be great. With the current issue at stack though I don't see that happening without the President.

I beleive the president should have the final say becasue he is the leader of the country for a reason. His ideas and decisions should be based off information that the secretary of state presents to him, but he should make the final decision

I believe there should be a mix of power between the POTUS and secretary of state. That way there is the ability to debate over issues and not have all the power under one person.

The President should be the real leader on foreign policy. The Secretary of State can help the President, but the President should make the final decision.

The leader should be POTUS because nations would better connect with the executive officer of the nation. To other countries, it would show that the US cares about relations if we sent our highest official POTUS.

It should be a mix of decision making between the POTUS and the SOS because this allows all of the aspects of the decision at hand to be gone through by more than just one person. But for small decisiions and polocies the SOS should be able to handle it themselves, hence the reason the POTUS put te in his cabinet.

The leader of foreign policy is the Secretary of State, who currently is John Kerry. While the POTUS has much knowledge on foreign affairs there is only so much the POTUS can manage. I believe the president should focus on domestic affairs, which it makes sense to me why the Secretary of State is in charge of foreign affairs. With this being said, there are some aspects of Kerry's meetings that could have been handled better.

I think that POTUS should make final decisions regarding foreign policy. The job of the Secretary of State is to advise the President on US foreign policy. As the leader of the nation, the President should have the final say in how the US represents itself to other nations.

I believe there should be a balance of powers between POTUS and the secretary of state. Where the president should have a minor amount of superiority over the secretary of state but at the same time the president should be open minded to the secretary of states stand on legislature to create a balance of these powers.

Unknown said...

Potus and the Secretary of states power should be evenly distributed. President may have more supierority over the secretary, but the secretary should be able to through ideas around for balancing these powers.
