This blog is a place for us to give our Analysis and Opinions on important topics related to civics, government and politics. Analysis is a clinical interpretation of items, issues, ideas, or events and an explanation of their impact on the future (i.e. something you think is going to happen). Opinion is composed of your reactions, feelings, and beliefs on items, issues, ideas or events (i.e. something you would like to happen). Even though they are your opinions, they should be based in fact.

I think Amy's pos on what shell be expecting in the inaguration was good because she was right on how the president should be expressing the safety of americans.
Mike O's comment about the president being cal and explaining his plan for his term was very logical. He has a good point that Obama would be calm because he knows what it is like to be inaugurated. Also, in the speech Obama did talk about his plan for the next four years including a large change of gay marriage.
I enjoyed Nick Berry's comment about the ingratiation. It was very well thought out and contained great diction. He also analyzed how the President was gong to act and gave very specific examples for why he was going to behave in this manner
Great job Nice Berry! Keep up the good work, champ!!
"In my opinion the President should be able to appoint his cabinet without advice from the senate. It is his personal opinion, and he is well qualified to make a good decision. The senate should also not have any more power over his appointees, because the checks and balances system prevents the executive branch from having to much power. In Article 1 Section 1 of the constitution it stats all legislative powers within Congress." I would like to comment on Brittany Radish's post because I agree that the president is qualified in making his own decisions. She even mentioned a section of the constitution Article 1 Section 1 to back up her opinion with reason. Well done.
I agree with Brittney R's post on why the president should be able to appoint his cabinet without the approval of the senate because they are apart of the executive branch of our government. Most people think of the executive branch as just the president, but it also consists of his staff.
Nick Berry's comment about the inauguration was very accurate since the president was serious and poised from his previous experience on stage.
i found that Nick Berry was very accurate on what to expect out of the inauguration was very accurate because the president did seem very serious. i feel his use of examples fit what the president actually did.
Out of all the blog comments I have read in the past 4 years, I found Nick Berry's comment regarding the inauguration to be the most insightful and thought-provoking. His diction of "poised" and "inspirational" seemed to be perfectly fitting for the president's speech. Furthermore, his usage of anaphora starting lines with "I think" helped lead me into the body of his beautiful commentary on this event. Overall, this comment was the most perceptive piece of writing in the history of Mr. Bretzmann's "Civics Blog."
I also believe Nick Berry's comment pertaining to the inauguration was good. His thoughts and ideas were extremely close and sometimes exactly right during the actual inauguration. Also, by nicks ideas being so close to what actually happened, they provided a solid foundation of what I needed to look for during the event
Wow, Nick Berry's comment on the inauguration was spot on. His thoughts were exactly what happened in the inauguration, and It helped me relate stuff in it to Nick's comment.
Wow, Nick could not have said it any better. It fit so perfectly i feel like he went into the future to find out. It also helped me relate to certain things because of Nick's comment.
I think that Jake Medved's comment about the future of gun control was thought out, because the President should be talking about it with all the tragedies that have been happening lately.
I agree with Nick B's post: "I am not concerned about the sequester cuts. I think it is a good start to lowering our debt (even though it would only reduce the debt by $1 trillion over 10 years). I hope that the administration will continue with larger amounts of cuts to various areas of government services."
I think it is well said. He provided facts and his opinion. I also think that our government needs to have more cuts as well.
