Is the Senate-passed plan a good plan that should be passed or a bad plan that should be voted down?

I believe that the payroll tax cut should be extended and not taken away, so far this plan has been working, so why take away something that has been working? It just seems right to keep this tax cut.

I think that the payroll tax cut is a good plan. The plan was started too boost the economy. If it is taken away the middle class won't have enough money to spend which will do the opposite and hurt the economy because people will not have enough money to buy things. The only problem with the plan is that it doesnt apply to the unemployed.

Payroll tax cut has helped to increase spending and in turn has, if nothing more, increased economic movement. I believe the only way to get out of an economic slump is to spend more and increase revenue. For these reasons, it makes sense to keep this tax cut.

I think that the Senate-passed plan should be voted down. By keeping the payroll tax, the government is losing money to fund social security which causes the people on social security to lose money. Therefore, I do not see how the extension of this tax cut is boosting the economy especially since it did not in the past.

Taking away this tax cut will meet the American people with higher taxes, thus less money to be spending on essentials like food and mortgages, to keep a roof over their heads. So this bill should be kept so those hardworking Americans can keep their homes.

I am undecided on what I think about the pay roll tax cut. Keeping the tax cut will increase the amount of money families have in these hard economic time. But the revenues created by this tax could desperately be use by medicare and social security, which are program many Americans rely on.

I think the payroll tax cut should be extended because if it is voted down, it would cause most workers to take home less money in their paychecks.

I believe the payroll tax plan is good for our nation. It helps improve our economy and stabalizes the middle class. Dont fix what isnt broken. this is my stand on the issue.

Although the payroll tax cut has helped, keeping it would mean that the social security program is losing money that is needed to keep the social security program alive. If the payroll tax cut is kept, however, the working families will have more money to spend, and that will increase the economy. Either way, many people are affected by the payroll tax cut and I think that keeping it for a few more months until a long term solution can be agreed upon will not devastate any programs and will help to temporarily strengthen the economy.

There are two sides that have to be considered on this issue. The payroll tax will probably icrease the money spend and therefor help the economy to grow in these hard days. But on the other side it will also decrease the money for social security and the people will probably loose money.
As a conclusion I'm very undecided about this issue and didn't came to a final decision about my opinion.

I believe that this is a bad plan and should be shut down, due to the fact that it is short-term. Since it will only last until January 1st, I believe that it can only cause harm to the economy. The Senate should spend a little more time on coming up with a long-term plan that will have a similar effect. This way, the benefits of their plan will remain constant and steady for a long period of time, rather than simply for a short time.

I believe that the payroll tax cut is a good plan. The plan was started as a plan to boost the economy, and without it I fear that we will fall deeper into a recession. This is because without it Americans will have higher taxes, which could diminish a family’s funds for essential things like: a roof over their head, groceries, heat, etc. Overall, this is my stance on this very controversial issue.

The payroll tax cut is a good plan. It has increased spending and therefore stimulated the government. It should be extended: if something works well, then why take it away?

I would have to agree with what a majority of the people are saying. In my opinion, I think that we should keep the payroll tax for many obvious reasons. First off, it helps to improve the economy. Most Americans would agree that the ecomomy is at the worst of the worst and keeping this plan can only help this situation. Also, by keeping the tax cut, families will have an increase in their money. Finally, if it WAS to be cut, people would not be able to bring more dough home to the family to put food on the table. Overall, this is why I think that the payroll tax cut is a good plan.

This payroll tax cut has at the very least increased economic activity and has shown signs of success. There is no reason to take away something that may help spur the economy. It is worth a shot to extend the payroll tax cuts.

I think this is a bad plan because its only temporary. If the plan is extended it would be better. However the government needs to come to a long term agreement otherwise there will be more conflict.

I think that the payroll tax cut plan wont make a difference by delaying it two months. Americans will not prepare so the thirteen days or two months does not make a difference. Americans love to procrastinate, because it is American. The delaying the plan will make us happy until the night before the tax is supposed to be set in place and Americans will be angry again.

I believe this Senate-passed plan is a good one that should be passed. This tax cut plan is saving Americans alot of money. This money that they are saving is either going to be spent to boost the economy or saved and people can start businesses and create jobs. I see no reasons this bill should be turned down.

I don't think that an extension is really needed. No matter when it ends, you are going to have a lot of people angry whether you do it today or in 2 months. I think it makes more sense for the government to start getting some of that money now rather than later.
