I'm sure there's plenty of speculation, but is there any sort of consensus on who the new Commerce Secretary appointee might be?

I haven't heard any consensus on Commerce and now that you mention it, I haven't heard a lot of speculation either. I hope it is someone who is bilingual so they can work efficiently with people from other countries who speak other languages.

Really? people from other countries speaking other languages? I thought everyone spoke english, anyways, I think this is a neat tool and its interesting to see the process as a walk-through. good find mr b.

I think that it is pretty cool, that his nominees look like america. It's not just old white dudes! There are even 4 women!

Jessie makes a good point. President-elect Obama's cabinet looks like a good mix of individuals. I'm suprised the commerce secretary position is still open though. It seems like he should at least make an announcement about the position soon.

I just did a quick Google search and there are two people who I saw had thier name pop up for a possibility for Commerce Secretary:

John Thompson, Symantec execuative and chairman

Richard Parsons, Former Time Warner chairman

Hmm, so no one nearly as qualified as Richardson. That's a shame.

I think the mix of Obamas cabinet is going to be a healthy change for America. It's just the first step he is taking to prove that we need to work together as a country and put aside our differences.

I am happy to see a mix of people in the cabinet. It will be a nice change and will better suite the diversity of America. It will be an exciting week and an exciting 4 years

I think this is a cool tool for Obama. My only concern is that I believe not one cabinet, even as diverse as this, will help us out of socialism.

I think its kind of ironic that the nominee for the Dept. of Agriculture is the former governor of Iowa. Kinda corny...
